About e-hub programs

e-hub's online self-help programs are based on the best available evidence and evaluated through high quality research. They can be used anonymously, 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world.

All programs are provided free of charge to Australians thanks to funding by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Health.

e-hub's self-help programs have been developed and evaluated over 15 years by experts in the field of mental health and web service delivery research at the Australian National University. The current delivery of the programs is undertaken by ehub Health - an ANU spin-off company managed by senior staff involved in the original development of the programs.

e-couch provides self-help modules for depression, general anxiety and social anxiety using strategies drawn from cognitive behavioural and interpersonal therapies, relaxation, and physical activity. e-couch also includes modules for separation and divorce, and loss and bereavement. ecouch.anu.edu.au


moodgym is an interactive self-help program for preventing and coping with depression and anxiety. moodgym teaches self-help skills drawn from cognitive behaviour therapy. moodgym.com.au


Bluepages provides information about treatments for depression based on the latest scientific evidence, as well as symptom quizzes and relaxation downloads, and links to other helpful resources. bluepages.anu.edu.au


The e-hub Web Service has been based on reviews of scientific literature, as well as ethical guidelines relevant to the delivery of online mental health services, such as those of the Australian Psychological Society.

Program structure and practice have been designed to meet the Australian National Standards for Mental Health Services and to satisfy other relevant standards, such as the Quality Framework for Telephone Counselling and Internet-based Support Services. The ongoing delivery of the service is funded by the Australian Commonwealth Department of Health.

moodgym

The moodgym Cognitive Behaviour Training program was co-authored by Helen Christensen and Kathy Griffiths and the original site was launched in July 2001. The upgraded site, moodgym Mark II, was released in September 2003, and the third revision (current site) was launched in March 2008. A new version of moodgym with a new, mobile responsive design was released in June 2017.

BluePages Depression Information

The BluePages Depression Information website was launched in March 2002 by Dr Kay Patterson, Minister for Health and Ageing. The information on depression treatments is regularly updated based on reviews of available scientific evidence.

e-couch

Helen Christensen and Kathy Griffiths began developing the concept for the e-couch website in 2005, and were the principal writers of its content, along with Georgia Tayler, a clinical psychologist in private practice. e-couch was launched to the public in July 2007, and later expanded to include streams for generalised anxiety & worry, social anxiety, divorce & separation, and loss & bereavement, as well as depression.
